SSS Slate was a result of a painful experience that taught the company, when you want something to get done, you should do it yourself.

After their investment in Bau’s Mammoth freight went sore, they were rather forced as well as determined to come up with their own freighter. Initially released in year 7490, it had seen many internal revisions but its outer hull remained the same.
The cargo capacity of SSS Slate is 10 million cubic metre, and it had a general crew capacity of 10.

SSS Slate was Super Star Shipyard’s only freighter class 5 vessel. It was also one of the largest ships by size as well as volume in Two Clusters. The only larger freight vessel was the retired (and failed) freight Mammoth model.

The name “Slate” came from its appearance and design where it appeared as if three layers were stacked together to form the ship.

This freight vessel was primarily used to transport massive amount of essential goods to established civilizations at once and was always escorted by sufficient guards, and therefore, SSS Slate was never pirated upon. In fact, official records indicated absolutely no case of SSS Slate being attacked by pirates.

The ship was not high tech by functions but its sheer size meant it required astronomical amount of materials to manufacture.

Less than 100 Slates were officially registered by year 9599.
According to SSS, it cost them 740,000,000c to produce a Slate, and its production time was 4 years.
